Special Birds: Long-eared Owl - roosts

Long-eared Owls Asio otus are quite widespread and locally common in Eastern Europe. In winter night roosts of 50 birds, and sometimes over 100 birds together, are not uncommon. Eastern Hungary and northern Serbia are two particularly good regions for such roosts. Roosts are often in urban parks, cemeteries and the like.
